Description
Dokra craft is a vanishing metal artform that uses wax casting techniques, dating back to over 5000 years. Also known as Bell Metal craft, this ancient artform originated in the Indus Valley Civilization and spread all the way to West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh as well as states like Kerala and Rajasthan. This craft is being practiced by a handful of tribal communities and this centuries-old art is fast vanishing due to lack of exposure.
